  • This living museum is lovely. The quality of the acting is just marvelous. Most of the buildings are not wheelchair accessible, so plan on doing a lot of just walking around if you can't lift your wheelchair user. Arrive early if you want to take advantage of the free horse and cart ride as it seems to fill up quickly, but the roads are wide and walkable. There is no food or drink in the museum proper but there is a great shade-filled picnic area and a small food service area before you cross into the historic village. We brought our own picnic so I didn't see the prices but the food itself looked like it was great quality and healthy (meal sized salad with beets and cheese). If you plan on going more than once get a membership to the "friends society"- $50 for a family- and you can go back any time. It costs $40 for one family admission so it's a great value. This was a really fantastic way to spend the day.

  • Great place to visit! It is fun to interact with the interpreters who stay in character based on the year associated with the area they are in.
